Management & Engineering Consulting

IMT Consulting, Inc. provides management and engineering support for CEOs, managers, and attorneys. Clients include domestic and international corporations such as automotive OEMs, Tier 1 and other manufacturers, and also privately held organizations.

Engagements generally involve a broad spectrum of clients' needs, including engineering analyses, liaison between overseas and U.S. operations, guidance during acquisitions and startups, strategic development, succession planning, workforce development, cost control, waste reduction, manufacturing troubleshooting, facilities development, and creation of new business.

Project Examples

International Liaison, European Acquisition of U.S. Company
GKN Ltd., a Europe-based manufacturer of OEM automotive components, chose IMT Consulting to assist a European operation with the integration of a former privately held U.S. manufacturer following its acquisition. IMT Consulting input included interfacing with top management from Europe and the U.S., assisting the two groups to understand the philosophical differences of the other, technology transfer, equipment selection and operation, plant layout, workforce selection, and project management and operational training. According to Mr. Per Hoppe, Project Director from Denmark, "We feel that Mr. Kucklick's involvement has been instrumental to the success of the project, and improved the overall operation of the U.S. unit due to his collaborations with GKN's management, engineering, and manufacturing personnel."

Automotive Manufacturing Productivity Improvement
MetalDyne, an automotive OEM manufacturer, retained Fritz Kucklick to consult with upper management and manufacturing personnel to evaluate and recommend numerous improvements to procedures and equipment. The outcome was to reduce scrap, reduce variations, improve productivity and allow the client to meet its obligations to automotive customers. According to Mr. John Musat, VP of Manufacturing, "…your work has been outstanding and of professional quality in all projects. Our company's return in investment in your services far exceeds the amounts spent…We will use your services in the future, and we would recommend your company to others who need to quickly, professionally, and efficiently improve their productivity."

Production Equipment Selection
Again for MetalDyne, Fritz Kucklick of IMT Consulting collaborated with upper management and production personnel to make specialized production equipment choices. Utilizing his unique combination of management and engineering skills, he guided management to select a European company that specializes in such systems. The client began production on schedule and avoided a potentially costly and time-consuming delay.

Startup of U.S. Subsidiary of Italian Company
Saver srl, an Italian composite components OEM manufacturer, selected IMT Consulting to assist in the establishment and ongoing operations of its subsidiary, Saver North America. Michael N. Bruno, President of Saver North America, says it like this: "Fritz's contributions to Saver's development and advancement have exceeded all expectations. As a startup manufacturing operation, we initially utilized Fritz's extensive manufacturing and equipment knowledge to assemble the right mix of automation and skilled labor. However, we soon discovered that his insights and experience were even more beneficial in the development and implementation of our corporate strategic plan. Since having Fritz involved in our overall corporate activities, we have completed the establishment of the most efficient production facility in our industry as well as secured as customers two of the largest players in the markets we serve."

Manufacturing Troubleshooting in Poland
For Daewoo's manufacturing plant in Poland, Fritz Kucklick of IMT Consulting analyzed manufacturing operations to determine ways to improve productivity in the client's steel wheel manufacturing unit, and to determine the need for the client to purchase new equipment for future model requirements. He studied equipment and tooling specifications, operational procedures, and technicians' proficiencies. He saved the client U.S. $10 million in capital investment by determining ways to utilize existing assets rather than going for total replacement. He also improved the existing operations by training the combined group of Korean and Polish engineers and managers in the latest methods and procedures. In addition, he introduced Daewoo’s Korean president to another international manufacturer to initiate discussions for a possible strategic alliance.
